What is Palm Sunday?
The donkey, the palm branches, the crowd shouting ‘Hosanna!’ We’ve heard this story since Sunday school. But here’s what we often miss: Jesus didn’t ride into Jerusalem to be crowned. He rode in to die.
And Palm Sunday asks every one of us a hard question: Do we actually want Jesus or do we just want what Jesus can do for us? Because that’s the difference between the crowd and a disciple.
Understanding Palm Sunday isn’t just about knowing a Bible story, it’s about understanding who Jesus really is and what He came to do.
What does it mean to be salt and light?
During the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus told this short parable that relates to the way believers are to live their lives. He calls His followers to be two things - salt and light. But what exactly does that mean? What does it mean to be salt and light and how was that relevant to what He was teaching during the Sermon on the Mount?
Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament - The Door
Just like during the times of Noah, it saddens God to see the way His perfect world has been corrupted. However, just as He provided a door to save Noah and his family, He provides us with a door (Jesus) so that we can be saved. A beautiful act of God’s love and faithfulness.
He has given us hope. He has given us a chance to be saved. Judgment is coming. Just like God judged the world during the time of Noah, He will judge it again.
